The movie that I will review is Weathering With You. It was released on July 19, 2019 in Japan and on January 17, 2020. The director of Weathering With You is Makoto Shinkai. He made the movie Your Name, too. The three main characters are Hodaka Norishima, Hina Amano, and Nagi Amano. Hina and Nagi are family. Hodaka’s voice actor is Brandon Engman. Hina’s voice actor is Ashley Boettcher. Nagi’s voice actor is Emeka Guindo. Hodaka left the house and went to Tokyo. He began a part time job writing the articles. He met Hina who can make the weather sunny. They started the job of making the weather sunny. But, Hina started to fade away because she used her power too much. So they started to work on how to get Hina back. I love this movie because the scenes are beautiful and the music is great.
I love all the scenes in this movie. I like dreamy illustrations and this movie’s illustrations are like that. My favorite scene is when Hina gets power to make the weather sunny. I like the voice actors’ acting. Like Your Name, Weathering With You’s music is perfect. I like “Grand Escape '' especially. I like the first piano part and lyrics. The message in this movie is very special. Many people think few people must sacrifice for the many people, but in this movie, the director is giving us a message that why must few people need to sacrifice for the many people. Because of this message and the story, there are people who like the story and people who don’t like the story much.
I like this movie very much. The points I love about this movie are the illustrations and music. I like the story too, but I was a little confused at first. I will give this movie a 4 out of 5 potato ranking. Everything is good, but some people would be a little bit confused about the story. I think people who enjoyed Your Name or like Makoto Shinkai’s movie would like this movie.
